Reduce your Carbon Footprint this Holiday Season

Gearing up for a holiday shopping spree? Carpool with your friends when you head out. It's fun and it saves you money by reducing the amount of gas used.

Pack your snacks so you don't have to stand in line at the coffee shop; don't buy over-packaged goods.

Opt for more veggies, especially ones that are in season, and local produce, so your food does not have to travel half way across the globe to reach your table. Save left overs in reusable containers. If you are not going to use it, compost it!

Travelling this holiday season? Climate compensate your travel. There are plenty of ways to do it. You could plant a tree, fund a tree planting, or buy other carbon offsets.

Lastly, before you step out of your home, look into your closet to see if you really need that new dress. If you do, buy sustainable clothing especially natural fibers. Reuse or up-cycle your clothes to prevent them from ending in the dump.
